I have arrived!

Well, I'm writing to you all from the Nyerere Center of Arcadia University here in Arusha, Tanzania. Our flights were long but bearable.

After what ended up being a little more than 24 hours of travel when all was said and done, we arrived late last night at Kilamanjaro airport and checked into the Everest Guest House. We settled in and arranged our mosquito netting for maximum protection. I'm sharing a room with two other students, Cindy and Patti, and after a slight rooming issue, another friend, Leeron joined us in our room as well. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast together and met with Martha, the director of the Arcadia Center here in Arusha. Martha is such a great tour guide! I'll write a separate post about the phrase I've used most often today and why.

Ellen, I'm looking forward to reading your blog, and I'll link to it from the Arcadia University Bulletin this week. I'm wondering how warm it is in Arusha? Your first-graders might think all of Africa is hot--but you're about 4,500 feet above sea level.
Tell Crystal to get some interesting video of you!
