Age: 9 Weeks

This week, I went to my first wedding. Congratulations, Tarra and Todd! I also went on my first climbing trip to the Gunks just yesterday (that's why my 2 month picture didn't get posted yesterday - oops, Mommy). I'm becoming a pro at long car trips. Well, sort of. If it gets late in the evening, I get a little cranky no matter where I am. Next week, I'll be down the shore again, so hopefully all this good car ride behavior holds up until then. See you all next week, but probably not until Thursday since I'll be a beach bum. And, hopefully my mom will tell you about my first shore trip before my second one happens - sheesh mom, slacking!

Age: 8 Weeks

Yesterday, I was 8 weeks old.  Some people say this means I am 2 months old, but I'm waiting for the 14th to make it official!  I go to the doctor's this Friday for my 2 month check up.  I've been taking my vitamins to build up my immunity before I get my first two vaccination shots.  I had a very relaxing time down the shore and my mom will tell you about my 5 minutes (maybe...max) that I actually spent on the very windy beach.  I'll give it another go in two weeks.  If you look closely at my photo, you may notice a spot of spit up.  Mom says my timing is impeccable.  And, poor Fred got shoved out of the way in this week's photo.

Packing it ALL in

Tomorrow, we leave for our first trip away from home for any extended period of time. We're headed to Sea Isle City for a few days and packing has taken on some new meaning. While I'm sure that in years to come, when Cecelia can play with things and build sand castles, there will be even more stuff being stuffed into the car. Right now, it's more an issue of packing for weather possibilities and spit up possibilities. We're taking disposable diapers to avoid having to wash our cloth diapers while on vacation. I don't think our stash would last 4-5 days without a wash while we're there. For each day we're there, I've packed one outfit for: the beach, the house, a long sleeved outfit (for chillier weather/night walks on the boardwalk), a onesie, pj's (which can double as the long sleeved outfit if need be) and a swaddle blanket for sleeping. I'm also planning to pack ALL the bibs and burp cloths that we have. And then we'll do it all over again in two weeks. Wish us luck!

Quite the Conversationalist

So, over the last few days, Cecelia has started to babbly and it the. coolest. thing. ever. Before we only heard utterances if she was perturbed about something, you know - hungry, tired, gassy, all the Dunstan stuff. Now, she's cooing. Actually cooing. So cool.

Age: 7 Weeks

Today I am 7 weeks old. The weather has taken a turn for the cold... brrr. Hopefully it will get a smidge warmer for my first trip to the beach this weekend. I'm excited for my first big trip away from home. On Sunday I went to my first kid birthday party - Happy Birthday, Joel! I can't wait to dig my hands into some cake next July for my birthday party. Over the weekend, my mom weighed me and I am now a whopping ten pounds. Next week, I'll go to the doctor for my 2 month check up and to show the doctor how big I am getting.
